Ford Offers Fleet Incentive for Ranger Pickup

Ford is offering a fleet incentive for its 2019 Ranger midsize pickup on two of the three trim grades, according to Ford.
Ford will provide a $750 discount on commercial orders of the midsize pickup, which returned to the Ford lineup after an eight-year hiatus. The incentive is available for the XLT and Lariat trims. The base XL trim doesn't currently carry an incentive.
In September, Ford announced it would offer several fleet-exclusive options with the pickup that in its early form was once a mainstay with pest control, landscaping, and other commercial and government fleets.
Fleet-only options on XLT include an exterior back-up alarm, SYNC 3 infotainment system, dual zone electronic automatic temperature control, upgraded 8-inch LCD touchscreen, and other equipment. Read More https://bit.ly/2GUyCyP

GM weighs $1B plant expansion in Missouri

General Motors officials met Thursday with Missouri Gov. Mike Parson to discuss incentives for a $1 billion investment at the automaker's Wentzville assembly plant.
The factory produces Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans and Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickups. The vans are long overdue for a redesign, while the midsize pickups are expected to be heavily freshened, if not redesigned, in the foreseeable future.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch first reported the potential investment and meeting, citing local lawmakers.
Parson told the newspaper that GM, in a closed-door meeting, had outlined a plan to invest in the factory and add jobs.
Parson told the newspaper that GM is seeking a package of state incentives that would need approval from the legislature before committing to the project to expand the Wentzville plant. Read more https://bit.ly/2XZOo2u

Detroit finishes FCA land deals for new Jeep plant

DETROIT — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles on Friday said it was moving forward with a $1.6 billion plan to open a second Jeep assembly plant in Detroit after the city finished acquiring about 215 acres the automaker needed for the project.
Detroit Mayor Michael Duggan said the city is contributing $50.6 million toward land deals worth $107.6 million so that FCA can reopen and expand an idled engine plant to produce the next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee and a three-row Jeep SUV. Key to the deal was a $43.5 million payment the city negotiated for 82 acres owned by the same family that sold Detroit's abandoned Michigan Central Station to Ford Motor Co. last year.
The new Jeep plant is the centerpiece of a $4.5 billion investment to retool and modernize several assembly sites in southeastern Michigan, including enhancements for production of electrified vehicles. But to open that plant, FCA in February said it needed the city to assemble the necessary land, and the company set a 60-day deadline of April 27. The city was still finalizing details as the deadline passed, and Duggan announced Friday afternoon that all of the necessary deals were in place. Read More https://bit.ly/2DMa0rk
